Frequently Asked Questions

There is no definitive answer to this question. Though it’s safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make any headway on what brings someone in, some individuals find a few sessions are sufficient, while others choose to continue long-term (over 20 sessions).

Often folks choose to continue to work with me through additional items as they arise, while others choose to address additional items outside of the therapeutic context. There isn’t necessarily a correct answer, but we can collaborate together to help you make the ultimate choice for yourself.

Absolutely. I offer a concierge mental health service. You have the freedom to choose what time frame makes you comfortable. If you would like a longer session, I would be happy to let you know my availability.

Absolutely. Part of what drew me to working with mothers was the joy in creating a space to hold the intersection of faith, feminism, motherhood, and marriage.

As part of the intake and throughout therapy, you will have the opportunity to share with me how faith does or does not play a role in your life.

Therapy is a space that you can use as you choose. Generally, it is a time to articulate and address more complex beliefs and patterns. This often opens the door to learning new skills, including (for parents) discipline. Generally, you need about an hour for a productive discussion.

Coaching gives you brief feedback about what skills (that you have already learned) might be helpful in the moment, as support to reinforce beliefs and though patterns throughout the week, or how to apply a skill to a specific situation that arise. This can generally be done in five to fifteen minutes.

A number of years ago I was on a few insurance panels and billed insurance for my clients. Unfortunately, I found that all too often my clients were still finding the full bill landing in their laps after I would properly complete the insurance paperwork.

Given the unpredictability of insurance coverage, I’ve chosen to charge out of pocket to avoid any surprise bills in your inbox. This also allows me to offer more individualized care to each of my clients.

If you and your family are experiencing difficulty in more than one area, thorough assessment will allow us to work together to identify what area would be most beneficial initially.
